Cutting Board "Island Sunsets"

Functional kitchen art. These face grain cutting boards are made of Jatoba, Makore, and Indian Rosewood. The Jatoba, which is also known as Brazilian Cherry, is found in Latin America and is a very popular imported wood. Makore is found in Africa, and it is also referred to as African Cherry. The color of Makore wood can be a medium brown with a kiss of red tones that make it look luxurious much like Mahogany does. Lastly Indian Rosewood is from Asia. It is known for its stability with colors ranging from dark purple to dark brown with occasional black lines.  

These boards are laser engraved and finished with several coats of food safe mineral oil and a thin coat of bee's wax. They measure 17 inches long and 12 inches wide. Thicknesses can vary with most of the boards starting out at less than 1 inch thick. Once flattened and sanded these boards range from a 1/2 inch to 3/4-inch thick.
