A cutting board made of walnut, maple, and African padauk is a beautiful and functional piece. Each wood has its own unique characteristics that would contribute to both the aesthetics and usability of the board.

Walnut is known for its rich, dark brown color and striking grain patterns. It's a durable hardwood that's often used in high-quality furniture and woodworking projects. In a cutting board, walnut would provide a solid base with a touch of elegance.

Maple, on the other hand, offers a lighter color compared to walnut, with creamy white to light golden hues. It has a smooth texture and tight grain, making it ideal for cutting surfaces. Maple is prized for its durability and resistance to moisture, which are important qualities for a cutting board that will be subjected to regular use and cleaning.

African padauk is known for its vibrant reddish-orange color, which deepens with age and exposure to light. It has a distinctive grain pattern and a moderate hardness, making it suitable for use in cutting boards. Padauk would add a pop of color and visual interest to the board, creating contrast with the darker walnut and lighter maple.

When combined, these three woods would create a visually stunning cutting board that's not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable and functional. The contrasting colors and textures make it a standout piece in any kitchen, while the combination of hardwoods would ensure its longevity and resilience to knife cuts and moisture.

Thicknesses can vary from 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches.

Every board we sell is treated with several coats of food safe mineral oil and then a thin layer of bee's wax is applied. The board is ready to use right out of the box.

**Photos are a representation of previous work/custom orders. Your cutting board could have a different grain pattern. This could affect how the wood absorbs the mineral oil as well as the final look and color of the wood but, rest assured your cutting board will come out looking beautiful. Not to mention this helps to make your custom-made cutting board one of a kind & unique!

*** For the XXL boards we do recommend measuring the area you would be storing the board in. This will ensure it will fit.
